What a fantastic morning! My 25 month old girl LOVED her time spent at Cheeky Monkeys (located in Al Barsha Mall). Mumcierge holds a weekly play date on Wednesdays for the bargain price of 40 dirhams! This includes two hours of play plus one structured activity. They also had some samples of bath wash from GAIA which I will test out this evening and let you know my thoughts on! And midwife Cecile De Scally was there to answer questions from mommy’s! Today structured activity was all about bubbles and dancing! Instructors took the children to the soft play area, where they had music playing and a bubble machine going! My little girl could not stop dancing! I highly recommend this weekly play date to any mom with a young toddler.
Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted by smiling staff. My little one was so anxious to play, that she took off like a bolt of lightning! I found her on the carrousel ride! *Note the picture below and her giant smile!* My ONLY complaint of the entire venue would be this ride. My girl was fine and never fell, but I did notice some of the older children (who are obviously heavier/bigger due to age difference) were falling off. The soft horses are either a) not bolted in correctly, or b) perhaps misused by other children resulting in damage. I overheard a few moms complaining. But again, my LO never fell off!
I felt completely at ease at Cheeky Monkeys. I did not have to go running after her because everything was suitable for her age. I did not have to help her up the structures, because again, it was perfect for her age! I even managed to sit down, have a bite to eat, and go to the toilet while she played! Speaking of bites, the food menu was very reasonable. I ordered her chicken nuggets which came with fries and a juice or water of choice for 16 dirhams.
Some of the areas of play included: a trampoline (big hit with her), fun slides, ball pit, “garden” which had a playdough, Lego, and paint station, and the soft toy room!
One of the biggest highlights was when Minnie Mouse came out to say hello to the children! Oh my goodness my daughter was freaking out (out of pure joy)! All of the kids seemed very happy!
P.S Nap time can sometimes be a bit of a struggle in our household! And guess what? She fell asleep very shortly after we started our journey back home! YAY!
