As you can see, this recipe is old! As old as me! My mom used to bake these cookies for me when I was a little girl. She passed on the recipe to me (the original clipping dated from 1986).
Yesterday I made them for MY little girl! Poor thing has been so sick I thought they
would cheer her up much like they did when I was a small child.
This recipe is easy and fun to make with your little one. I used to love eating the batter:)
And surprise, surprise so does my gem!

-
2 eggs
-
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-
2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda
-
2 cups old-fashioned oats
-
1 cup raisins (Sun-Maid)
Directions:
-
Cream together butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla.

Stir in flour, salt, baking soda and oats mixing well
-
Stir in raisins
-
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper
-
Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto cookie sheet
-
Bake at 180 C (my oven gets very hot so I lowered it to 160 C)
-
Bake for roughly 10-12 minutes, keep a close eye on them as soon as the bottoms start to get golden remove from oven. The dough on top after 12 minutes may look a bit raw, but it will crisp up when you take them out of the oven.

Cool on wire rack
