DIY: Magical Garland Crowns For Girls & Boys

Now that the holiday season has officially come to an end, it’s the perfect time to go scouring the malls for garland on clearance! What can we make with the garland? CROWNS of course! With lot’s and lot’s of ribbons! I have a thing for collecting ribbon so my stash is always fun to rummage in! The finished product is super cute!

What You Need:

  • Garland
  • Ribbon (either silk ribbon or the curling type for wrapping gifts)
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Form a circular shape that will fit your child’s head (wrap the garland at least 3-4 times so it is nice and full)
  2. Secure the crown by twisting the wire ends around it (make sure they are not sharp)
  3. Add tons of colorful ribbon in all shapes and sizes!
  4. Be a PRINCESS!

And I couldn’t leave out the boys! I am upcycling some wrapping paper from Christmas that the kids had received. I couldn’t throw it away it’s GOLD & GLITTERY! My fav!!

What You Need:

  • Wrapping paper or thick cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Tape / stapler / or a glue gun (whatever you have)
  • Pencil

Instructions:

  1. Free hand a crown design on the back of the paper using a pencil
  2. Cut it out
  3. Measure your child’s head circumference to make sure it is not too small or too big! A crown needs to fit perfectly for a Prince or King!
  4. Staple, glue or tape the two ends together
  5. Adorn with gems or leave it as is! I added a faux gold leather trim!
