Venue Review: Steppentierpark

Tucked away near to one of the most beautiful places you can visit in Austria (Burgenland) is this small but cute zoo called Steppentierpark

It’s actually more of a petting/feeding farm.

If you go with two adults classed as a “family” (x2 adults + x2 children) the entry price is 23 euros. You can then opt to buy paper bags filled with food to feed the animals priced at 1 euro each.

To go through the whole park and stop to feed all the animals, aim to spend anywhere between 2-3 hours minimum.

The baby pigs were a huge hit with my two. They also loved the Shetland ponies and Alpacas!

In terms of value for money, it’s not bad at all. Lots of space for kids to run around and the fact that they can pet everything makes it a perfect family outing. Oh, and if you have a dog, you are also able to bring it inside the park for a small fee of 1 euro.

On the plus side for adults, while you drive home you have plenty of opportunities to stop and purchase/try wine from local wineries in Burgenland and if that doesn’t float your boat, just soak in the beautiful scenic drive! We made a few stops to purchase things like freshly picked apples and 10 liters of natural/organic apple juice! So there is really something for everyone!
